MOUNT KISCO – Ten people were displaced Friday night after flames heavily damaged a multifamily house.

Ten people were displaced by a fire on Maplewood Avenue Friday night. There were no injuries.

Nine adults and a 2-year-old girl had to find temporary housing after the blaze at 20 Maplewood Drive. The fire was reported about 9 p.m. and heavily damaged the building. There were no injuries.

The Westchester chapter of the Red Cross assisted the tenants and was working with the landlord to find temporary lodging.

Carolyn Sherwin, a spokeswoman for the Red Cross, said the landlord was very helpful, and that village emergency officials were as well. Blankets and other personal items for the residents had been stored ahead of time, and were brought to the scene by firefighters. The Red Cross also provided financial assistance so people could replace lost personal items.

A Stephanie Crispinelli comfort kit, including a Caring Bear, was given to the young girl.
