YONKERS – The person who robbed the Chase Bank on Main Street Friday afternoon is the same person who robbed the Webster Bank on McLean Avenue on Tuesday: a 17-year-old boy, police allege.

Detectives arrested Jeremiah Johnson, of 80 Riverdale Ave., Wednesday and charged him with two counts of first-degree robbery, a felony, Lt. Patrick McCormack said.

McCormack said police are continuing the investigation as they try to determine who was Johnson's accomplice in the Tuesday heist.

Police say Johnson was one of two masked men who entered the Webster Bank on McLean Avenue around 11 a.m. Tuesday, displayed what may have been a handgun then ran off with an undetermined amount of cash toward the Hillview Reservoir.

Police have not recovered a gun, McCormack said.

Johnson also entered the Chase Bank on Main Street around noon Friday and gave a teller a note before running off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

"Kudos to the Detective Division," Police Commissioner Charles Gardner said in a statement. "They did an excellent job, working through the night and making an arrest around 3 a.m."

Johnson was awaiting arraignment Wednesday afternoon in Yonkers City Court.
