Moose spotted in Bedford neighborhood
Moose sightings in the Lower Hudson Valley are relatively rare.

Multiple reports of a moose sighting in Bedford came in Wednesday morning, Bedford police said.
The moose was seen near Bedford Road and Harris Road. By the time police had arrived the animal had scurried away.

"Obviously the moose made its way down from somewhere north, it was likely foraging," said Lieutenant Tom Diebold.
Moose sightings in the Lower Hudson Valley are rare.
"As unlikely as this was, I'd imagine there was only one," Diebold added.
