BLAUVELT - Today  would have been just another regular morning in the Griggs home. Blauvelt couple Steve and Christine would probably have had coffee together if not for their front door being blown off and a crowd of  FBI agents storming inside.

Steve Griggs, Matt Griggs, 13, Christine Griggs holding Daisy and Ruth Carey, Christine's mother, are pictured in front of their home in Blauvelt, Feb. 6, 2018. The home was being used in a scene for an upcoming NBC drama, "The Blacklist"

If you were driving on Spruce Street in Blauvelt this morning, you might have witnessed a SWAT team  and a gaggle of policemen gathered at Hillside and Spruce streets.

The Griggs were not on the "most wanted" list but their home was. Production scouts for the NBC drama "The Blacklist" chose it for a scene shot Tuesday morning.

HIGH UTILITY BILLS THIS MONTH? Here's why

This latest filming location in Rockland County was for an episode of the crime drama starring James Spader and Megan Boone. The fictional show premiered in 2013 and is about a former U.S. Navy officer turned criminal who helps the FBI find other high profile criminals after turning himself into the police agency. "The Blacklist" films extensively in Rockand and Westchester.

The Griggs are huge fans of the show.

“I was a big fan; a huge fan. I’ve been watching since the beginning,” said Christine Griggs.

Getting their home onto the show wasn't that hard: "They posted a flier on our front door and I answered the call,” she said. “They asked us if we were interested in using our home for a film shoot.”

Production crews mill about as they set up to shoot a scene from the NBC drama, "The Blacklist" at the home of Steve and Christine Griggs home in Blauvelt, Feb. 6, 2018.

They said yes and their home, on a corner lot, was prepped on Monday for the Tuesday morning shooting for an upcoming episode.

Three tractor-trailers rolled up in front of their home and moved lights, cameras and other equipment inside and outside of the five-bedroom home where the Griggs have lived  for more than 20 years with their two sons, ages 19 and 13.

“They came yesterday at 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to set up,” said Steve Griggs. “Tuesday, they came here like an army of ants and set up at 5:45 a.m.”

The couple moved their two Labrador retrievers out of the home since the company, Woodridge Productions, took over their living room and kitchen to shoot an indoor scene. The most dramatic outdoor scene, of course, would take place with those "SWAT team" members crashing down the front door.

“I didn’t expect that," said Steve Griggs. "But everyone has been very professional and nice.”

The couple won’t say how much money they received for the two-day shoot, but they are pleased with the results. The episode will air in one month.

“It’s worth it breaking down the door,” said Steve Griggs.“I would do this again if it runs as smoothly as this.”
