Are you brave enough for the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery murder tour?

More a fan of classic Halloween fare than gore? Here are 10 options that range from an acrobatic performance of an Edgar Allen Poe classic, to lantern tours in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and a "Gravedigger" at Boscobel.

1. Murder and Mayhem, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow

Go: Thursdays and Saturdays in October from 8-10 p.m.; Halloween 8-10 p.m. and 10 p.m.-midnight. November dates: Nov. 3, 5, 10, 12 from 8-10 p.m.

This two-hour, lantern-lit tour stops by the final resting places of a debonair counterfeiter, the scene of a grave robbery, victims of “the Mad Murderer of Sleepy Hollow,” a brotherly murder-suicide, and the celebrated opera singer who was alleged to have assaulted, extorted, and killed various of her seven husbands. 2. "Nevermore," Sleepy Hollow

"Nevermore is a circus-theater adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven.” The 45-minute show is told through aerialists and acrobats under a circus tent, located at Horan's Landing in Sleepy Hollow. Tickets are $35 for opening night, which includes a Poe-inspired cocktail, expert lecture and a performer Q&A. Other performances are $22 in advance, $25 at the door. 3. "Gravedigger" at Boscobel

Go: Oct. 26-31; various shows times, 5:30-9 p.m.

A man, a trunk, and a book: "Grave Digger," first appearing in Act V of "Hamlet" resurrects this tragic tale of murder inside the historic Boscobel Mansion. Created with Hudson Valley Shakespeare Theatre and using Shakespeare's moving words, traditional music, and input from the audience, Louis Butelli's charming grave-maker offers an interactive retelling fit for the Hallo-weekend. During Halloween, the historic Gothic mansion offers some spooky tours.

5. Spooky Tour, Lyndhurst

Go: Tours are offered Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, through Oct. 30.

During Halloween, tour the first and second floor of this spooky Gothic mansion and check in on a variety of former castle dwellers like Henry VIII and his six wives in the blue parlor, Sleeping Beauty in the reception room, vampire bats in the library and a wizard’s dinner in the great dining room. $18. If you don’t want to tour, for $8 parking fee, you can roam the grounds at night, check out the spooky lighting, the scarecrows, visit the gift shop and stop for a bite to eat. 635 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, lyndhurst.org

6. The Classic Lantern Tour, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow

Go:  Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, plus Halloween night from 7-9 p.m. and 10 p.m.-midnight.  Also, weekdays Oct. 19, 24, 25, 26, 27, 7-9 p.m. Nov. 4, 5, 6 11, 12, 7-9 p.m. and 10 p.m.-midnight; Nov. 13, 19, 26, 7-9 p.m. only.

These hour-long tours are great for history buffs who will learn more about Washington Irving, author of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” Revolutionary War veterans, wealthy industrialists and others. Learn about cemetery art, architecture, and symbols on the grounds, and step into the cemetery’s 116-year-old underground receiving vault. $25. 7. Oak Hill Walking Tour, Nyack

Go: 2 p.m. Oct. 16. Tour meets at the entrance gate on Route 9W behind Nyack Hospital. Visit the “permanent residents of the Nyacks” with a guided tour of Oak Hill Cemetery. You’ll be led past the graves of Edward Hopper, Helen Hayes, Charles MacArthur and more and stop by one of the final resting places of Civil War soldiers, the founders of Nyack, a police officer slain during the 1981 Brinks robbery and others. $5 donation at the start of tour. friendsofthenyacks.org

8. "The Real Wicked Witches of Halloween Hills," Mamaroneck

Go: 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. Oct. 30. Emelin Theater, 154 Library Lane, Mamaroneck,

One-hour musical, filled with loveable witches and Halloween goblins, is directed by John Treacy Egan and Thomas Coppola. Come dressed in your Halloween costumes and meet the performers after the show. $15. emelin.org, 914-698-0098.

9. “Shocktober," Pelham

Go: 9 p.m. Oct. 7,14, 21, 28. The Picture House, Pelham

The Picture House screens four spooky films: "The Shining," (Oct.7); "Nosferatu," with the Invincible Czars (Oct. 14); "A Nightmare on Elm Street," (Oct. 21) and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," Oct. 28, which also features a midnight show. All are part of the Picture House’s Friday Night Frights series. 10. "Rocky Horror Picture Show," Tarrytown
