NJ Transit to resume full Hoboken service Monday

New Jersey Transit said it would resume full service into and out of Hoboken Terminal Monday morning.

Commuters had seen more than two weeks of limited service following a train crash that killed one woman on the platform and injured 114 others on the train.

NJ Transit said Friday that they will reopen four tracks, which allows full service to resume, at 4 a.m. on Monday.

The railroad would not say whether that would mean every run on the usual Rockland train schedule would be restored, including express trains. It said commuters should check back after 10 p.m. Saturday when NJ Transit will release Monday's schedule.

hen the station reopens fully, costumers can access tracks 1 and 4 through the external walkway near PATH and tracks 7 and 8 via the main terminal. Tracks 5 and 6 will remain closed as NJ Transit continues its ongoing repair and recovery work.

NJ Transit Executive Director Steven Santoro said the railroad is taking extra precautions as it restores service: Trains entering Hoboken Terminal will be required to decrease their speed from 10 mph to 5 mph, and a conductor will ride in the cab car with the engineer.
