Croton-Harmon Superintendent Edward Fuhrman to retire next year

Croton-Harmon Schools Superintendent Edward Fuhrman will retire from the district at the end of the 2017-18 school year.

Ed Fuhrman, superintendent of Croton-Harmon school district, announced he will retire at the end of the 2017-18 school year.

Fuhrman, who earns $237,418 in annual gross pay, according to the state Teachers Retirement System, has overseen the district of roughly 1,600 students since 2009. He has worked in education for 42 years, including at Nanuet public schools for 13 years.

“Family is very important to me and children are very important to me. My wife is retired now, and I really enjoy spending time with my grandchildren,” Fuhrman said in a statement. “It has been a privilege to work in this district with the children.”
