Police say three teenagers are in hot water for a stunt high above the Hudson River.

The three have been slapped with charges after police said a video was posted on YouTube last month that shows them trespassing on the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement one night.

Work continues on the Mario Cuomo Bridge, the replacement for the Tappan Zee Bridge Aug. 10, 2017.

"They basically videotaped themselves committing a crime," said Trooper Michael Cassella, a spokesman for Troop T, which covers the state Thruway.

Two of the suspects, ages 17 and 18, are from Yonkers. The other is a 17-year-old from Tuckahoe. Police have not released their names.

The video, which was published on July 13 and had more than 4,800 views as of this morning, shows three young men walking along train tracks around 4 a.m., slipping through a hole in a fence and making their way onto the bridge that is still under construction.

Khurram Saeed, a state spokesman for the bridge project, said there is 'round-the-clock security at the site. Tappan Zee Constructors, a consortium of contractors tasked with designing and building the bridge, alerted police after gathering evidence of the three young men breaking into the project site, spokesman Damien LaVera said in statement.

"The safety and security of the project site are top priorities for us," LaVera said.

Police said Monday that they were made aware of the incident on Aug. 5, and that the three teens were arrested between Aug. 6 and Aug. 8 and charged with third-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor. All three were released and have appearances scheduled in Greenburgh Town Court.

One of the two new spans of the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge is scheduled to open on Aug. 25. The second span is projected to open in 2018.
