NEW CASTLE – A manhunt went into its second day Sunday as the search for a burglary suspect who outran multiple police units, including a helicopter and K-9 dogs, moved out of the New Castle area, officials said.

The suspect, who is wanted in connection with an out-of-state warrant on burglary charges, allegedly led state, New Castle and Westchester County police on a high-speed pursuit Saturday on the Taconic State Parkway and, later, the area of Campfire Road.

Police said the suspect was reportedly spotted overnight and is no longer in the New Castle area. He is described as white, 5-foot-8 and wearing a black T-shirt and camouflage shorts. State police are continuing the search.

Residents in the area were urged to call New Castle police at 914-238-4422 if they see anything suspicious.
