Winter storms in New York can range from delightful to devastating, and preparation for any kind of rough weather can make all the difference.
We'll start with a few ways to keep in touch with us:
- If you're reading this storm guide during a storm, download our iPhone, iPad or Android app for storm news alerts.
- Once you have the app, enable alerts and then select "weather" and "breaking news" from the list of notification types.
- Our weather map gives up-to-the-minute reports.
- If you must drive, check our traffic map and cameras before you head out to see if the roads are blocked. Check our schools delays and closings list.
- If you have a news tip, call us at 914-694-5077 or send us an email.
- We'll also be posting storm updates on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and sending email alerts for the biggest updates.
- We've built a Twitter list of weather sources to follow.
- Tweet your commute or your neighborhood with the hashtag #lohudsnow.
